What is EPSDT?
EPSDT stands for Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment—a federally mandated Medicaid benefit that ensures children and youth under 21 receive the physical and mental health services they need to thrive.
It’s supposed to be the backbone of youth healthcare in America—but too often, it’s buried in bureaucracy, misunderstood, or overlooked altogether.
